Drop In Season 3 - episode 5

Little did we know that the days wouldn't be very sunny again for about a month.
You have to have a LOT of patience to do a road trip with Cameron McCaul! That guy can't sit still for very long unless he's shoveling down platefuls of foo5 d.
When you put him in the cab of a truck with a bunch of other guys it gets to him and he starts making loud noises and singing inaudible notes at high volume. I decided I needed to give Cam something to do on our way to some lift accessed riding before one of the guys sitting close to him opened his door and shoved him out on the highway. It was time for Cam to learn how to drive. It was pretty scary especially since we were on mountain roads and his attention span or lack there-of was causing the truck to swerve all over the road. It shut him up for the most part though and it was worth it to salvage what was left of our sanity.
We proceeded to film the muddiest, most rainy segments of Drop In history. Seasons 1 & 2 were rain free for the most part; dust and forest fire danger was the biggest concern. You will love seeing Steve, Ryan, Dylan, and Cam get soaked to the core as they shred the mountain. We left Darren Berrecloth's place just before he kicked us out for destroying his brand new pad. We packed up the bus and started truckin' up the coast some more. Darren told us about some guy on an island along the way who builds cool trails. We were skeptical but coming from The Claw we had to check it out. This segment will inspire all of you who use the fact that you have no help as an excuse to not build trails in your area. Wes is the ONLY rider on this island and his trail was one of the 10 best of the tour. We thought Wes had a strange butter addiction when we realized that the forest his trail was in was littered with butter containers. Turns out the crows take the containers from the dump near by and leave them on Wes' trail. Varmints! After Sointula we headed north into unknown territory. The only thing we did know was that there was a bike shop and they said that there were some places to ride. Another gamble. We hit Port Alice, a small town with nothing but a pub in it. Spent one entire day taking turns shuttling each other on the DH portion of their Cross Country course. It was so fun! Cam and Dylan kept racing each other trying to set the best times, even the producers and Milkman got on the bikes for a few circuits. Who knew in a small hamlet like Port Alice we could have such a cool little session. Best berms since Woodlot. We had some visitors come and see us in Port Alice. The group responsible for starting the ball rolling in Europe for the eventual "Drop In European tour" was in Whistler shredding for a week so they made the 5 hour journey to meet up with us and start talking turkey. They borrowed a friend's two seater mini pickup and there were 4 of them. Three crammed in the cab and the fourth had to lie down in the box with all their bikes and gear in the pouring rain. These guys are serious, we had a great time meeting them and we look forward to getting a good thing going in Europe. Who missed Super T? Well he returns and we're going to show you what he was up to while in Alaska on a photo shoot. What looked to be a complete bust actually turned out pretty good, goes to show a crappy situation is what you make of it.
